Traveling to Central Wisconsin Airport:
Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) is located between Wausau and Stevens Point, WI. The airport is served by three major airlines: Delta, United and American with direct flights from Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP), Detroit (DTW) and Chicago O’Hare (ORD).
For international travelers, we recommend using Chicago O’Hare (ORD) as your link from your originating airport to CWA due to the vast availability of foreign carriers that provide service to Chicago O’Hare. For a list of all airline carriers to Chicago O’Hare, click http://www.flychicago.com/ohare/aboutohare/airlinesohare.shtm
For transportation from Chicago O’Hare to CWA, use either United Airlines or American Airlines.
United Airlines (www.united.com)
American Airlines (www.aa.com)
Check each Web site for local country phone numbers if you prefer to make your reservation by phone.
Chicago O’Hare is an extremely busy airport. Give yourself at least 2-3 hours between flights, especially if you need to clear U.S. Customs there.
Check with your originating airline to see if it has a baggage agreement with whichever airline you choose to fly into CWA. This way your luggage can be checked straight through to CWA. You will still need to clear customs with your bag at your first port of entry into the U.S., but it will already be tagged to CWA.
If your originating airline does not have an agreement with either United or American, you will need to claim your luggage in Chicago O’Hare and check your luggage again with your carrier to CWA.
Also, if you make two separate reservations for flights to CWA, you can still check your luggage straight through to CWA as long as both carriers you choose have a baggage agreement.
Flights to CWA will appear on airport monitors as Wausau/Stevens Point, WI.
